The refurbishment project for the blast chiller at a production plant for both raw and melamine-faced chipboard panels has recently been completed. The project was developed starting exclusively from the available historical documentation: a series of technical drawings in PDF format dating back to 1996.
The first phase of the work focused on a 3D survey campaign of the existing plant, which was necessary to verify the actual condition of the structures and equipment. Through the digital reconstruction of the existing layout, it was possible to obtain an accurate model of the plant, useful both for design coordination and for managing interferences during the subsequent development phases.
Based on the data collected, the refurbishment project for the blast chiller was then developed, with particular attention to integrating the new solutions within the existing plant.
The client also requested a modification to the blast chiller roof. This led to the study of a new roof configuration aimed at optimizing air flows and increasing the efficiency of the extraction system.
